Patriots Sign Jamree Kromah Off the Bears Practice Squad

New England Bolsters Linebacker Depth

The New England Patriots have signed linebacker Jamree Kromah off the Chicago Bears practice squad, the team announced Tuesday. Kromah, 25, joins the Patriots after spending the past two seasons with the Bears and Dallas Cowboys' practice squads.

Kromah's Collegiate and Professional Career

Kromah played college football at Mississippi State, where he recorded 118 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks in 49 games. As a senior in 2019, he earned honorable mention All-SEC honors. After going undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft, Kromah signed with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent. He was waived by the Cowboys in August 2021 and later joined the Bears practice squad.

Patriots' Need for Linebacker Depth

The Patriots have been dealing with injuries at the linebacker position this season. Ja'Whaun Bentley has missed several games with a rib injury, and Mack Wilson has also been banged up. Kromah provides the Patriots with some much-needed depth at the linebacker position and could see some playing time in the coming weeks.

Kromah's Outlook in New England

Kromah is expected to compete for a backup role behind Bentley and Wilson. He will also likely be used on special teams. If Kromah can impress the Patriots coaches, he could earn a more significant role in the defense down the road.

The Patriots are hoping that Kromah can provide them with some depth and stability at the linebacker position. He is a young player with potential, and the Patriots are hoping that he can develop into a valuable contributor.
