As a lifelong Minnesotan, Gwen Walz is proud to work on behalf of all Minnesotans. Her passion for public service is evident in her work as an educator and her commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.

First Lady of Minnesota

Gwen Walz is the first lady of Minnesota, having married Governor Tim Walz in 1994. She is the 39th first lady of the state, and the first to be an educator. Gwen Walz is a role model for women and girls across Minnesota, and she is using her platform to advocate for issues that are important to her, such as education, health care, and economic security.

A Commitment to Public Service

Gwen Walz's commitment to public service is evident in her work as an educator. She has taught at all levels, from elementary school to college, and she is currently a professor at Winona State University. Gwen Walz is passionate about education, and she believes that every child deserves a quality education.

In addition to her work as an educator, Gwen Walz is also active in a number of community organizations. She is a member of the board of directors of the Minnesota Children's Museum, and she is a volunteer with the American Red Cross.
